The Jesus Prayer for Beginners

Image
I've put together a short (and possibly a bit idiosyncratic) booklet about praying the Jesus Prayer, which was such a surprisingly important part of my pilgrimage. I'm hoping to make use of it in a couple of weeks as I've been asked to lead a session on the Prayer with our spiritual directors in training.  If you're interested, you can read it here .  And if you do read it and have any thoughts, I'd love to hear them, either in the comments or via email. Like me, it's a work in progress!

Back to work!

Well, the end of my sabbatical leave means it's time to go back to work this week - for me, for La Fenice , and for my faithful companion Meg. I'm spending much of this week picking up the threads of my day job after three months away, catching up on everything I've missed. But part of the challenge is also trying to figure out what's changed in these last twelve weeks, and what difference that makes going forward. I've spent weeks living way out of my usual comfort zone, weeks opening up my horizons, weeks praying in new ways and at an intensity I've not experienced before. It has to make a difference. I've come back a different person, in some ways. But different how?  Well, that's the question, isn't it. I think it's going to take a while to figure out. I've got to get to know my work again. But alongside that, I've got to get to know myself again too. Fun ahead!  ///resides.skylights.purest
